What do I get for trying to Google a bit about how the Women’s World Cup works? A barrage of links to the photos of the German Women’s team posing for Playboy last month, of course. Sometimes my gender makes me look real bad. C’mon now.

Oh no there are some women that would like to play sport AND model for playboy oh no how dare they because that makes YOU look bad how dare they make their own decisions how selfish of them.

That’s not my point whatsoever. My point is that trying to look up World Cup scores and rules only comes back with results on the Playboy spread. They can do whatever they please - I just wish it wasn’t the only thing people were searching for in conjunction with Cup.

………………this is the internet.

is it not helping women more by showing that we can be powerful, athletic, successful and sexy? why do they have to be mutually exclusive?  i don’t understand why this is a negative instead of a positive.

and considering most female footballers I know are munters, this is a good thing

why does it matter when there are five hot germans in wet t-shirts up there

It doesn’t matter, at all. My problem was with major sports news outlets highlighting the story of them posing for Playboy over stories about the actual World Cup. My beef is with ESPN etc., not a woman’s right to show her body if she so desires.

Everybody who responded to you is either a jackass, or a bro disguising their glee at naked women with their half-assed idea of feminism. Ladies can be sexy if they so choose, but it’s just a bummer that the world pays more attention to the five minutes they were naked than the entire career they’ve spent playing professional soccer. The only thing I hate more than sexism is shocked, clutching-of-the-pearls affrontery at being called out for sexism. In short, give me a fucking break, Internet.
On a happier note, Zack, I fully endorse the idea of you posting lots of kitten pictures.
